Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2: Rupal Patel to return as Kokila Modi, show to reportedly get a Navratri launch

After attaining the title of the most popular show between 2010 and 2017, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is finally getting its second season. While it is no new news that Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who replaced Gia Manek as Gopi, will be reprising the character, the question that whether Rupal Patel aka Kokilaben will continue with the show or not surfaced across media. Now, ending all speculations, Rupal, in an interview with a leading daily, said Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 is incomplete without Kokila.

Confirming that she is very much a part of the second season, Rupal spoke about other saas-bahu shows wherein characters are either negative or positive. She further pointed out that Kokila is different from them as she is a righteous woman who never differentiates between her daughters-in-law. Revealing that young girls often tell that they want a saas like Kokila, Rupal said, "Of course, I’m a lot more flexible and fun. But even today, young girls tell me that they want a mother-in-law like Koki."

Rupal is currently seen as Meenakshi Rajvansh in Star Plus' Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. Talking about managing two shows simultaneously, the actress told, "I couldn’t sleep the night I was approached for SNS 2 as I prefer doing one show at a time But the channel, Rajan sir and Rashmi ma’am have assured me that we will figure out a way to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly."

Mohammad Nazim, who played the role of Ahem Modi aka Gopi's husband, will be joining Devoleena and Rupal in season 2. Speaking of returning as Ahem, Nazim said, "With many shows coming up with a second season, my family and I were waiting for SNS to carry forward its story. And as soon as the makers approached me, I said ‘yes’. SNS made 7 pm a primetime slot."

Reportedly, makers of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 want a Navratri week launch. It is being said that newcomer Sneha Jain and Kartik Purnima actor Harsh Nagar are the new lead pair.
