'Parvatibai expresses her feelings uninhibitedly for Sadashiv,' says Kriti Sanon about her character in 'Panipat'
Kriti Sanon, with talent and hard work, has managed to make her mark in the vast film industry. The actress who has been giving back to back superhits, has become every filmmakers' favourite and has been bagging some interesting projects for her kitty. After the success of Housefull 4, Kriti is now gearing up for the release of her first-period war drama titled Panipat. And as the film is inching towards its release, Kriti has been keeping busy with promotions. Similarly, during one such promotional interview with a leading daily, the gorgeous actress spilled the beans on her character from Panipat named Parvatibai. The 29-year-old star went on to reveal that Parvatibai isn't just for a romantic angle but has an important role to play in the narrative. Kriti added that the character, who is a vaid(doctor), when necessary takes the right decision for the welfare of the Maratha empire. She further told that the character expresses her feelings uninhibitedly for her spouse and is not a weak person.
“I had never featured in a period film before this, it was exciting to play a character like Parvati Bai knowing she was for real. I can’t keep doing only love stories, can I? When I heard the narration, I realised that Parvati Bai isn’t there just as the love angle. In fact, she is unlike what you would expect from a female character from that era but then, Ashu (director Ashutosh Gowariker) sir’s women have never been weak. Jodha in Jodha Akbar had strong opinions, ditto Parvati Bai. She expresses her feelings uninhibitedly for Sadashiv and is even a little manipulative in love," Kriti told during the interview.
Directed by Ashutosh, Panipat is produced by Sunita Gowariker under their home banner AGPPL in association with Rohit Shelatkar's company – Vision World. The film stars Arjun Kapoor as Sadashiv Rao. Sanjay Dutt is the menacing Ahmad Shah Abdali. Apart from them, it features Padmini Kolhapure, Mohnish Bahl and Zeenat Aman in special roles. Panipat is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019.
