'Queen' lands into fresh trouble! Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar files a petition seeking a stay on the web show starring Ramya Krishnan

After Kangana Ranaut in AL Vijay's Thalaivi, Ramya Krishnan is all set to essay the role of former Tamil Nadu chief minister and late actor J Jayalalithaa in the web series Queen. However, the web show has landed into trouble as Madras High Court (MHC) has reportedly asked filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon to respond to the notice on the suit filed by Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar.

For those caught unaware, Deepa had filed a suit against various biopics of former Tamil Nadu CM, including Thalaivi, as she is of the opinion that the several films and web series could tarnish Jayalalithaa's image if represented without the consent of the family members. Now, according to a report in a portal, Deepa has filed an interim petition today against Queen makers after they failed to response. She has also sought a stay on the show, which is slated to release on December 14. On the other hand, Madras HC has ordered Gautham fto file his reply by 11th of this month.

Interestingly, there are almost five biopics being made on the life of Jayalalithaa and Deepa had earlier claimed that none of the respective makers had sought permission. Apart from her, Jayalalithaa's nephew Deepak Jayakumar does not seem to be happy with the web series Queen. He too issued a statement, claiming Gautham did not take approval from Jayalaithaa's family before filming the series on her.

Meanwhile, Queen also stars Anikha Surendran, Anjana Jayaprakash, Indrajith Sukumaran, Vanitha Krishna Chandran, Viji Chandarsekaran and Sonia Aggarwal. If all goes well, it will stream on MX Player in Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, and Hindi.
