Richa Chadha kicked a hornets’ nest when she reacted on Lt.General Upendra Dwivedi’s statement on taking back PoK from Pakistan. Her tweet made Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, Kay Kay Menon, Ashoke Pandit, FWICE and even cricketer Amit Mishra come out and slam her on social media and even resulted in people resorting to filing FIR against her. However, Prakash Raj has come out in her support and questioned Akshay’s comment sparking another row. KayKay Menon wrote, “Our brave men& women in uniform, put their life on the line to keep every citizen of our Nation safe &secure! Least we can do is to behold love, respect & gratitude,in our hearts, towards such valour! #JaiHind! !!

However, cricketer Amit Mishra stood by Akshay and other celebs who slammed Richa’s tweet. He questioned the priorities of netizens.

On the other hand, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) that labelled her tweet as “most irresponsible”. The film body has condemned Richa's tweet and also called for “film entities” to condemn the same. Appealing the Maharashtra government to take action against Richa, the FWICE issued a statement that reads, “In view of the above, we demand an immediate unconditional apology from the actress Richa Chadha. We also appeal to all the entities of the film industry to come forward and condemn her act which has not only hurt the sentiments of the Army personnel but also that of every Indian and seek legal action against her.” It further labelled the tweet as “the most irresponsible statement" and said it abused and disrespected the soldiers "who have laid down their lives at Galwan”. It appealed to the state government and police authorities to take “due cognizance” of the statement and “initiate necessary action” against Richa.

After receiving severe backlash for her tweet, Richa had issued an apology but the deed was done.

Several netizens have called to boycott her upcoming release Fukrey 3 and a Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal has written to the authorities demanding an FIR be lodged against her.
