Ajay Devgn to recreate another melody with 'Dil Da Pata Nahi' in Akiv Ali's next
The trend of remaking old songs for new Hindi movies is at its peak right now. Call it due to the public demand or the success ratio of recreated songs, every second big Bollywood movie lately features one or two songs that have been remade from superhit numbers from the ’80s and ’90s. While many celebrities have expressed their disappointments over this trend of bringing back old songs in a new avatar, Ajay Devgn seems in love with this latest flavour of the season.
Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Mere Rashke Qamar was recreated for Baadshaho last year and the song featuring Ajay and Ileana D'Cruz turned out to be the biggest hit of the year. The actor then featured in the recreated version of his own song from Ishq (Neend Churayi Meri) in 200-crore grosser, Golmaal Again. Not only this, his recently released Raid also saw two songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (Nit Khair Manga and Sanu Ek Pal) recreated by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. And now Ajay is bringing one more recreation in his next movie.
We have exclusively learnt that late Punjabi singer Surjit Bindrakhia's popular song Dil Da Pata Nahi from his superhit 1999-album Mukhda Dekh Ke will be recreated in Ajay's next romcom movie directed by Akiv Ali. The song has been recreated by RDB Band and is said to hit chords with audiences when it releases. Bosco Martis of Bosco-Ceaser duo is choreographing this club number.
"It's a bar-track and has been picturised on Ajay, Tabu, Rakul Preet Singh and Jimmy Shergill. The shooting for this grand song is being filmed at Mumbai's Chandivali Studio since Saturday (April 28) and will be wrapped up on May 4," a source informed us.
The yet-untitled romantic-comedy is said to be a fresh take on urban relationships. Producer Luv Ranjan had recently said, "It is a space which Ajay has not done for a long time. We have either seen him in romedies or masala action entertainers or thrillers. Urban rom-com space is something which he hasn't done for a long time. So, I hope people will enjoy that side of him."
The film is scheduled to release on Dussehra weekend this year.
