PeepingMoon Exclusive: 'Is there already one?' quips Ranbir Kapoor hinting at Luv Ranjan's Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar crossover film
Luv Ranjan, known to be the master of rom-coms, is back with yet another film. Titled Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the leading roles. Just before the release of the rom-com, there are reports that Kartik Aaryan will be seen surprising the audience with a special cameo. For the unversed, Luv and Kartik are among the most popular director-actor pairs.
With such rumours, is there a possibility of a Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety x Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar crossover film? When PeepingMoon asked this to Luv during the promotions of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Ranbir quipped, "Or is there already a crossover?" hinting at Kartik's presence in the upcoming rom-com.

The director went on to say, "Aisa nahi hai ki maine iske baare mein socha nahi hai. Main masti mein baithke bohot kuch sochta hu. Haan, iss genre mein kabhi crossovers nahi kiye hai. Main Rana Daggubati se discuss kar raha tha ki kaafi directors apne apne universe banake baith chuke hai, but yeh idea interesting hoga agar hum ek durse ke universes udhar le aur usmein ghuse. For example, Ayan Mukerji ka Sid (Wake Up Sid!) mere Sonu se mil jaye. Main humesha sochta hu Chulbul Pandey aur Singham mil jaye toh kya hoga."
Luv began his career as a director with Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011) with Kartik, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Sunny Singh, Ishita Raj Sharma, Omkar Kapoor and Sonnalli Seygall in the lead. The blockbuster trio of Luv, Kartik and Nushrratt returned with Aakash Vaani (2013), followed by Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 in 2015 and then Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) with Sunny Singh.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, produced by Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, and presented by T- Series’ Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar, also stars Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia and Boney Kapoor. The film will release in theatres globally on March 8.
