Former Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds passes away in a car crash at 46
The world woke up to the tragic news of former Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds' demise. The 46 years old was killed in a car crash on Saturday night. Reportedly, he was the only passenger in the crash which took place outside of Townsville in his home state of Queensland
Police told the media, "Early information indicates, shortly after 11pm the car was being driven on Hervey Range Road, near Alice River Bridge when it left the roadway and rolled. Emergency services attempted to revive the 46-year-old driver and sole occupant, however, he died of his injuries."
Andrew's last post on Instagram was a tribute to Shane Warne who died of a cardiac arrest in March this year. He had written, "Devastated, I’m hoping this is all a bad dream I just can’t get my head around never seeing you again. Love to all the Warne family I’m speechless."
Andrew was fondly known as Roy.
