COVID-19: On returning to Los Angeles, Tom Hanks gives health update; thanks fans for their well-wishes
The rapidly spreading and highly deadly Coronavirus has taken over the world right. With each day experiencing new cases of the novel COVID-19, staying safe at home is all that people are concerned about right now. Amongst the firsts in Hollywood to be tested positive of Coronavirus were Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. The couple who was quarantined in Australia as a part of their treatment, returned to Los Angeles on Friday. Tom and Rita were reportedly discharged after the few days of diagnosis and they were residing at a rented apartment in Australia for nearly two weeks.
Tom, after returning to the States safely, informed his fans through Twitter that they will be observing social distancing like the rest of the country. He further went on to thank those who took care of Rita and him in Australia and guided them to return back home safely amid the ongoing scare. He expressed gratitude towards his admirers for their wishes. "Hey, Folks… We’re home now and, like the rest of America, we carry on with sheltering in place and social distancing. Many, many thanks to everyone in Australia who looked after us. Their care and guidance made possible our return to the USA. And many thanks to all of you who reached out with well wishes. Rita and I so appreciate it. Hanx," Tom wrote in his statement on Twitter.

Tom, a few days before returning to the United States from Australia, on Twitter, gave his fans a health update. He informed that two weeks after the first symptom, the couple felt much better. He even urged people to stay at home and be safe. “Hey, folks. Two weeks after our first symptoms and we feel better. Sheltering in place works like this: You don’t give it to anyone — You don’t get it from anyone. Common sense, no?” he wrote. “Going to take a while, but if we take care of each other, help where we can, and give up some comforts… this, too, shall pass. We can figure this out," Tom wrote.
